Cupcakes!

If you follow my other blog http://mylifebignsmall.blogspot.com/  you would see that things have been a little stressful lately, especially for my dear husband who is trying so hard to provide a wonderful life for us.  He as been having a particularly hard time at work, so I thought I'd cheer him up with some cupcakes!  Since I'm on a strict diet, I didn't want any at the house, so I sent them all to work with him.

I think they turned out quite nice!  They are lightly flavored coconut cupcakes, with cheesecake filling and a rich buttercream frosting.  Just a small part of the yummy goodness sold here at Sugar Mama Sweets!

Also, be watching for my new logo!

Mickey Mouse!

So, I have a friend who has been in love with Mickey Mouse for years, and it was her birthday a few weeks ago.  When I was asked to bake a cake for her I immediately knew I had to go big, or go home!  I devised a plan to make Mickey's face out of a normal round cake and use smaller cake pans for the ears.  It was a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting, and a little white buttercream in places!  This is how it turned out........

Happy Birthday (Part 2)

This one I created for my uncle who told me to surpise him with any 'ol cake.  However, he said it MUST contain as much maple flavoring as you can get into it!  So, I made him a double layered maple cake, with a pecan praline filling.  I also lightly flavored the icing with the maple.  I knew I had to make it a football cake, and it just couldn't be any other team but the Jacksonville Jaguars.  He is a huge Jags fan!  He loved it!  Now, I will admit that this is one of my earlier cakes, so you will notice that parts of it are a bit sloppier than I would do now.  But I think he really liked it, and that's what matters most!

Happy Birthday (Part 1)

I made this cake for a friend.  Her family was coming in from out of town, so you can imagine the last minute details she was rushing to perfect.  I saw on her facebook page that she was planning on making her own birthday cake, and I just couldn't let that happen.  So, I whipped her up some sugary sweetness! Judging from the pictures of her baby's face that night, I think it was enjoyed. ;-)

Ladies Day Out

This is a cake that I made for a wonderful group of ladies.  They get together once a month to play games, enjoy good food, and conversation.  They requested a cake that would reflect this occasion.  It is a coconut cake, with rich coconut buttercream frosting.  The sides of the cake are flecked with yummy coconut flakes to add to the flavor.
